The Bullpen: Padres @ Giants, May 5th 2026

For Cinco De Mayo, the Padres Battled the Giants Here at Oracle Park during an Evening Matchup

Some great highlights today include Ryan Borucki’s 200th career Major League game, and Jesús Rodríguez’s first ever Major League home run!

The Game

We got there right when the Giants were up 4-3, and the energy was high. At the time of writing this, the San Diego Padres are 2nd place in the National League West and the San Francisco Giants are last after their first winless roadtrip since 2019.

Right now, the Giants have called up Sacramento Rivercats players Bryce Eldridge and Jesus Rodriguez from the MiLB as well as Trevor McDonald recently getting his start on May 4th at the start of the series. We are integrating new players into the game, and I’m sure the transition for them is pretty jarring. I can’t wait to see what the team looks like with the new players comfortable and the veterans healthy.

DJ Umami absolutely crushed it, Billie Jean by Michael Jackson was the 8th inning song voted in by the crowd, and we were pumped to be back at our first giants game of the season! Michael Mays, son of Willie (RIP) was in attendance tonight as well.

The San Francisco Giants lost 10-5 to the San Diego Padres to tie up the series to 1-1 at this point (we ended up losing the series 2-1 on 5/6/2026).

I completely deflated from the 4th to the 7th inning when the Padres scored 7 runs while the Giants scored 0. Everything that went wrong though is fixable but may be a challenge for new manager Tony Vitello.

The Experience

Cameron took great advantage of the 501 deal and actually got our tickets up in the club section for $15 each.

I am floored at how much I enjoyed being up on the club level. From multiple bars with liquor on the shelves and Modelo on tap to the Carvery’s brisket sandwich, we could not stop exploring everything up in the floor above. About 70% of the floor is inside and has multiple seating areas especially at left field.

I personally have always been enamored by commemorations, game used items, and other exhibits inside different ballparks — and the Giants Club Level was no exception.

Pro Tip: For Baseball fans who absolutely love sundaes or families with kids that may benefit from a shorter line, there is a Ghirardelli up in the club level that was absolutely empty every time I was up there. I’m sure it depends on which game you go to, but I’ve never seen less than 4-5 people in line until the 8th inning.

Drinks were plenty as well, Cameron took advantage of a Golden State Cider tall boy while I got my annual souvenir cup of soda.

Seats were low enough to not get hit by the wind, but definitely close enough to be dialed into the action. The 231 through 234 seat sections are still close enough to catch a wily foul ball. Club seats are just above the lower level but just below the view level. A lot of cool sections like the club patio seating, the cloud club, and the Bank of America Diamond Seats are also present on the Club Level with their own perks and amenities.

I definitely recommend the club section if you’re going to a game that’s expected to be cold, at night, or if you’re looking for a little more of an express experience when it comes to ballpark dining. I’m stoked we got the 501 deal to experience it.

Did I mention they have beef bulgogi bowls and chicken sriracha too? We couldn’t possibly try all of this tonight.

There is so much for us to try at Oracle Park that we gotta come back soon to experience more — let us know what we should try next!
